I used to work for AT&T and they had a stock option for the newly IPO'd AT&T Wireless stock. It IPO'd at $34 and soon dropped to $32 within a few weeks. I couldn't get in on it because I was a new employee but many people in the office went so far as to take second mortgages on their homes to purchase this stock as the company made it sound like a steal at $34.

Just for kicks one day I made an exact duplicate webpage of yahoo stocks showing the stock plummeting to $14 a share. I put it on the corporate webserver and emailed everyone and sent them the link to the page.

Hearts throughout the office stopped beating. I even heard screams. I quickly announced it was a joke as I was afraid of people jumping out of the windows. Funniest part about this is that the stock dropped to $14 like 3 weeks later or something then down to $11. Many people lost their A$$.

Anyway this webpage reminded me of that. He he.

WTF?

Yeah, that's REAL funny. Sounds like someone who would get off yelling fire in a crowded theatre only to watch people trample over each other to get out.

Man, if you ever worked for me, I would fire you that SECOND and make sure you never worked in the industry again.

Boy...I'm sure you got LOTS of laughs for that...

Ha ha, yeah it was damn funny.

i have a strange feeling this is not a hoax.

I had a look at the source of the zwebendesign page and the Apple homepage, not to check if the HTML works, but to see if they have the same copyright labels and general setout. The original looks very similar to the zwebendesign version. Maybe they just modified the pictures and links and not the rest of the script.

Also, Apple give their images very desciptive names, usually involving lots of numbers for dates or something. The image name for the powerbook ad on the zwebendesign version is powerbookhd20050907.jpg, very similar to the indextop20050132.jpg of the current ones.

Also, you can follow the links to the Support section, which probably wouldn't be there if it was a hoax.

I reckon its a 75% chance this is for real.

home page says HD accross the line , in the powerbook page it says HD on 15,17" only

duff but a fun one

one can wish though :)

If you look closely, you can also see that the ATi logo states RADEON9700 whil they advertise X800 parts...

Nicely done hoax, but some mistakes still...
