Hi,

Just bought a new hard drive to replace my old one, what is the best way / programme to make an identical copy of my original hard drive (including operating systems)

cheers.

Carbon Copy Cloner

It's free and works great. Look on Version Tracker or google it. I use it all the time for backups.

Haha I had just written a reply (stating that CCC is the way to go) and as I hit the submit button, my Safari crashed. Well, at least the question got an answer in no time :)

I also use CCC which does an excellent job. Also consider the NetRestore package, NetRestore Helper creates an image of the HD so you can restore to another with the main app. You can find both of these and many more excellent apps at www.bombich.com.
