I'm on a jailbroken iphone 4 and I just realized I cannot download apps from App Store. What happens is when I hit install, the app store closes immediately and nothing happens. I can update my apps but I cannot download new apps. I am currently using the categories cydia app, anyone have any issues with categories and downloading apps in app store? Anyone else having this problem?

not sure what you did could be a conflict most of us don't have this issue. Apple always takes my money!

Just uninstalled categories. Unfortunately that was the cause and I now can download from the app store...this sucks, now i have to put up with those awful stock folder icons :*(

i'm gonna try and reinstall it then.
I know why my app store kept crashing...it was because i had in a categories folder. I just took it out of the folder now it works fine.
That shouldn't have crashed the App Store. At least it never did on my 3G. I don't have it on my iPhone 4.
I was just going to suggest that. Yeah, this issue has been reported in a couple of threads before.
It **might** be an iOS4 issue. The AppStore on my JB'd iPad running 3.2.1 works fine from within a folder, but it crashes immediately as described from within a similar folder on the iPhone 4. Both devices have SBSettings, Categories, and CategoriesSB installed; the only other difference is that the phone has BiteSMS.
Same workaround fixed the problem, just removed AppStore from the Categories folder I'd created and it works fine now.

This problem appears to have been fixed. At least it's not happening on my iPhone any more.

Apps from App store now working
I had the same problem, in my case it wasn't 'categories' since I haven't this one installed, it's just that I had the App icon inside 'SBSettings' 'Dock'. I put it back and now works perfectly. Weird really.
This thread helped me to guess so I just wanted to share.
