Is this possible? I would like to switch my 7200 RPM 500GB Seagate HDD from my 2010 15" MBP to my girlfriends 2010 13" MBP.

It depends entirely upon the hard drive and how much that particular model vibrates. I have a Seagate Momentus XT 500GB in my new 13" MBP and there is no additional vibration, just a small amount of sound.

Now I have a 15" MBP (2007 model) that has a WD 500GB 7200rpm and it vibrates everything and anything else sitting on the table with it.

The hard drive mounting in the 13" is not that different than that in the 15", so I don't see why everyone insists these drives vibrate too much for the 13".

I have a 7200 in my 13" (same structure as current pro), and I really don't mind it. The vibration is only really noticeable when resting my hands on it while on a desk, table, etc. Even then, it's not too bad, and I don't do that much, so it doesn't bother me.

I can confirm there is only faint vibration / sound from seagate momentus xt. It isn't silent like the stock drive though.

i wouldnt recommend a 7200rpm, causes way too much vibration in my 13" pro
Just cause it's vibrating in your MBP doesn't mean it vibrates in everyone else's MBP.

Just saying :D

I use a 7200 RPM 500 GB as well. It's amazing. No vibrations at all. Of course you're gonna hear some when you put your ears close to the HDD but who does that? Weird stuff.
