I'm sure I'm teaching Granny to suck eggs but are you all aware of the 999 function on your iPhone? I only found out a few weeks ago having owned an iPhone for years!
Once set up, it's just a case of pressing the on/off button on the top, FIVE TIMES.
You then get a five second count-down during which you can cancel.
You're through to the 999 control desk and asked "which service"
They then pass your phone number over to the required service.
Once finished, again if set up, the phone will send a message to the the person designated as your emergency contact. Again there is a TEN SECOND countdown during which you can cancel the message being sent. The message states that you have called emergency services and attaches a Google Map of where you phoned from!
