A 17" CRT for 15 bucks!

No I'm not selling one. I was just wanna gloat that I went to the thrift store today and found a Compaq 17 inch CRT monitor (MV720) marked with a $14.95 tag. I was like, "WTH?". I thought it was broken, but hooked it up with some PC and it worked perfectly. I was giggling with joy and the others around me were quite freaked out by my reaction. This is quite an upgrade from my 15" Compaq monitor. When you're poor, sales like these can make your spirits soar!

So yeah, BOOYAH!! IN YO FACE!!!

I remember back in the day when I upgraded to the NEC Multisync 1701 17" monitor. Cost me $800 and I was like in heaven. Now I throw up in my mouth when I see one. But heh thats a great deal. I need one now to hook up to my server and saw this thread and thought, ok I'll buy it.

The Goodwill store near my house always seems to have monitors for low prices. I've been tempted to pick up a couple to have sitting around the house for LAN parties

I just bought a Samsung 955DF 19" flat screen CRT for $20 on Craigslist. I found another soon after for even less.

CRT's can be bought dirt cheap these days.

yeah, congrats on the buy.. but i'd be lying if i said i didn't throw up in my mouth a little at the thought of owning a CRT again..

huh, I'm using a cheap 15'' CRT with my powerbook 1.5GHZ right now to type this post.

A leack in the roof dripped on my PB and bust the backlight on the LCD last week - haven't got it repaired yet.

Using an AST Vision 41, 15'', dragged it out of the attic and wiped the dust off, maximun rez 800 x 600 huh.

One bonus - games play a lot smoother now
