I share this sentiment, Turkiye has suffered from bad earthquakes in the past and I hope that there were few casualties.

The ministry announced that the networks were down. It says to use SMS to reach people there. Disgraceful.

I don't live in Istanbul. But I was able to reach my distant relatives there on my 3rd call. They all jumped and coming to our city. The autobahns are clogged.

Today is April 23 Children's Day. That's why schools and state institutions like tax offices were closed. Thank God it was a holiday today, otherwise the front of the schools would have been like a war zone.
The earthquake occurred on the European side of Istanbul. It was also felt on the Anatolian side and in Bulgaristan, Greece and Romania.

Personally, I love Istanbul, - a wonderfully historic and atmospheric city, full of fascinating spots - and was very sorry to read about the earthquake.
