A better Stickies app?

I have the default sticky note program on my mac but I think it could be doing more for me, what about something that will always be pinned to my desktop or to my dashboard, or what about something that looked more like a sticky note and more aesthetically pleasing. Any ideas?

There is 'Desktop Notes' app at Mac App Store, it should do what you need.

Also, if you need to have not notes with long texts but lists of items or tasks, you may be interested in our todo lists application.
