A bit of a glitch

Okay i have a couple of questions:

1> I bought a few movies from iTunes on my Mac Mini and they are stored on my external hard drive. Anytime i try and watch them on the mini they play fine. When i hook up my MacBook to the external drive the movies do not play and iTunes crashes.

2> When i try to import my book marks into Firefox from a file on the hard drive (rather than from safari) the program crashes. From Safari everything is fine.

That is it for now but irritating just the same
