I think it's time we made some progress on the Video cards.

Some folks here have done some nice work on the 8800GT and the 3870 but I am curious if anyone has knowledge of the EFI ROM structure?

ow much info comes from PC ROM?

Are the RAM timings in both or just the PC one?

Does the whole thing have a checksum?

What language is EFI part written in?

We might very well be able to add some cards if we could make sense of these questions. Anyone know?

I heard someone hacked together 3870 drivers for PCI-E based G5's

They somehow combined the Openfirmware from a X1900 with the 3870 with EFI.

Seems like a waste of time.

I was under the impression that using the PC 3870 and flashing it with the EFI ROM never worked out.

Off topic:

My best "flash memory" would be flashing the 7900GTO with a 7900GTX ROM, because they were the exact same card with different firmware. Oh, they haven't done that since
