So, I just popped over to eBay to see what the Lightning connector situation is, and was pleasantly surprised: Lightning to USB 2.0 cables going for AUD $8.90, free shipping, next day postage, from Hong Kong.

I also found a domestic seller (Sydney, Australia) selling the cable at AUD $9.50, but then noticed that it said it was a pre-order and would be in stock in 2 weeks, so take that for whatever it means.

But yeah. Haven't really kept track of what the availability of cheap Lightning connectors has been like lately.

I understand that some people are going to say something like "yeah I'm not going to risk my expensive iPhone 5 with some dodgy knockoff cable from Hong Kong", but in my experience I have never had cheap Chinese cloned hardware fail on me.

I'm talking several Macbook chargers used long term ($20-30), replacement Macbook batteries ($40), Canon DSLR batteries, Nokia batteries... God I love eBay <3
