A Couple of Features I Can't Find

There are a couple of features that should be obvious that I can't find. I have a Series 5 SS AW. First, where is the famed compass? I don't suppose I'll have much use for it, but I don't see it in my apps. Second, I notice that people can dim the display by placing their palm over the watch. This doesn't work for me. Is there a setting for it?

I have the compass app in the App Layout, so IDK.

The setting you're looking for is in the Watch app > Sound ad Haptics > Cover to Mute. You have to actually put your hand on the screen, not just above it.
