Hello iPad board, I frequently the iPhone board but recently I have lost possession of my 4S. I am interested in purchasing an iPad (first gen, 64GB with Wifi/3G) on eBay.
I have a couple of questions regarding the first generation iPad... Please forgive me if they seem very obvious
I have no experience with the iPad but plenty with the iPhones~
1. Are all 3G iPad's factory unlocked? I plan on using AT&T in USA for 3G service, but when I go to Hong Kong can I use a local carrier and use a their 3G service in Hong Kong? (In Hong Kong I use Three HK for my phone, In USA I use AT&T)
2. I don't plan on gaming very much, so would an iPad 1 be ideal for checking emails, reading comics/text, surfing the web and watching 720p MKV's?
3. I was checking some of my iPad compatible apps on iTunes and if the app says "Compatible with iPad", it doesn't specify which generation. Does this mean it works for all iPad's?
4. How does iPad 1 run on iOS 5.1? Smooth?
