Being slightly compressed, I guess there are things on a standard keyboard that don't appear of a laptop's keyboard but I am new to either type and could use some help explaining what's what.

The keys ..... Command - Option - Esc = Force Quit.
Fair enough but what is the Command key? Is there a symbol I should look for?

The keys ..... Command - Option - Eject = Sleep Now.
OK, but what is the Eject button?
Also, is there a way to get the hash mark?
Thanks all.
Steve

Command key either has "command" or the Apple logo on it.

Eject key is in the top right, looks like an eject button.

Thanks guys,
The Command key was easy enough to find. The key next to the Spacebar ha an Apple and a weird looking doofuss that looks a bit like a square with a teardrop at each corner.
Still can't find "Eject" though. Top right of my keyboard is F9 - F10 - F11 - F12. Underneath those, from left to right, I have "_ and -", "+ and =", and "Delete".
None of those keys have anything that looks like an eject button on them and the keys are not worn all that much.

Still can't find "Eject" though. Top right of my keyboard is F9 - F10 - F11 - F12. Underneath those said:
What model Mac do you have? Spotlight 'eject command'. Use to be 'command e' - probably different now. Put a disk in an try.

I notice you are in the UK, so maybe you have a different keyboard layout. On the US keyboards, the eject key is to the right of the F12 key and above the Delete key. It has a symbol that looks like a Triangle with a line underneath it.

My Pismo does have a UK keyboard complete with a £ key.
On it, the F12 key is right at the end of the top row and nowhere on the keyboard is there anything resembling the icon usually found on an eject button.
Command e doesn't work either.
