Some help would be much appreciated here:

- I seem to have turned on the text recognition software (I think it was fn+F5 that did it!) and now I can't seem to turn it off.

- I also seem to have turned some kind of an option to display a big square around any file/application which I click on on my desktop.

Any help with one/both of these would be really welcome!

Thanks alot

Voice Over

cmd+F5 turns on/off both of these.

Which on a lappy will probably be cmd+fn+F5

oops - sorry, guess I'm just repeating what was said above.

Never knew about that shortcut - so much about my Mac I never have time to discover!

Open your system preferences and start nosing around in there - this is where you'll find all of your settings.

For the voice thing - system preferences/universal access to turn voice over on or off ... hope this helps.
