I have a Penryn Macbook and am using 10.5.6 and love it, but am having a few minor problems that are starting to slightly bug me (Note: i have recently repaired permissions and reset PRAM):
1) When restarting or powering up from shut down, mail and ichat always asks permission to use the keychain.
2) Although it may not be related to OS X, i have to force quit firefox about twice daily because it starts improperly rendering websites and am unable to click any link
3) The battery status drop down list on the menu bar no longer shows the option to select my power saver preferences (eg. better battery, better performance etc.). Although I can just go into system preferences and change it, it is very peculiar
4) When idle, computer does not go to sleep at the designated time set via energy saver preference (still turns off monitor off at specified time)
5) DVD drive is behaving oddly. It does the startup mechanical sound randomly when using the computer (once or twice a day, even while i am writing this). Sometimes I put a disc in and it doesn't spin up and when I press eject it spins up and os x detects it. It also sometimes displays 2 discs when there is only 1 drive. When my external DVD drive is connected, it sometimes it doesn't detect the disc at all and have to unplug the drive and reconnect it before it detects it (sometimes only displaying it in finder and not also on the desktop).
6) Finally, when burning a DVD, I have lately been getting the "device failed to calibrate laser" error.
If anyone can shed any light on why these problems are happening and what I can do to fix them it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
