Summary of thread:

the difference in price between a dual 2.3 and dual 2.7 is 400 us dollars. Yet it is only a 400mhz difference. Do you guys think that would be worth it buying the dual 2.7? Is there any other atdvantages towards the dual 2.7 that i dont know about :
I know about the front side bus is different and the video card is better.

1$/MHz

You are quite right:

1800 MHz = 1500$ (this is single processor, the others are dual)
2000 MHz = 2000$
2300 MHz = 2500$
2700 MHz = 3000$

on average you pay about a dollar/MHz. clearly the low-end MHz's ($0,83/MHz) are cheaper than the high-end MHz's ($1,11/MHz).

so the most economical choice is to buy the 2.3GHz model. You pay premium for top-performance.

You must keep in mind that you have 2 processors in the PowerMac (except for the 1.8GHz) So in essence, you are paying $0.50/MHz.
