So I've got a few quick questions about hard drives.

First off, on Thursday I'm buying a new MacBook Pro to replace my 3 year old PowerBook. Secondly, I'm pretty impatient. I originally wanted to get the 7200 rpm upgrade, but now I'm leaning towards the 5400 rpm, since I'll be able to just pick up the laptop in store and not have to wait at all. I also feel like I'd appreciate more battery life/less heat, since I only get about 30 mins on my PowerBook and it runs fairly hot.

My second question is if in the future I decide to upgrade my hard drive to a larger capacity/faster drive speed, would I be able to put the MBP drive into my girlfriend's Rev A MacBook?

You only asked one question from what I can tell: yes you can move the hard drive.
