This is an iPod touch forum, but for the record, for number 2, you need to reformat it for a mac machine, which means restoring the iPod...and you will need to move all your songs/videos to your macintosh.

By the way, I recommend when you add all those songs and videos that you let iTunes do the arranging for you (not manually manage songs/videos), so that you can keep a solid library.

If you are comfortable hacking the firsmware on your iPod Video, then yes, there is the iPod Classic to Video hack. You will need iPod Wizard to perform any firmware hacks. Read the documentation very carefully, because you can brick your iPod if you screw it up.

You can also get the iPod Touch to iPod Video UI hack.

You need to re-format it in iTunes on the Mac.

[Basing my post on youtube videos of the hacks..]

That would not work for showing "album artwork" next to the videos. The iPod Video does not support it at all ... In short, no, it's not possible to do what the clarke123 wanted. The hack just changes the way of presenting the same information on the screen, but does not add anything like the thumbnails next to the videos.

But it does make the interface look better (or worse, depending on you) :)
