A few issues I have (zoom in issue, pg up/dn, ect

Hello. I have a few main issues with my MBP 15" late-2009 (10.6.3) that I am wondering about. First off, whenever I zoom in (ctrl + scroll), the mouse will occasionally jump to a different part of the screen. I have the screen set to continuously with pointer. Secondly, whenever I press pg-up or pg-dn, the page will hard jump. However, on my grandmothers MBP 15" late-2009 (10.6.3), it does this glide sorta effect when I press pg-up or pg-dn. Is their a setting somewhere for that. Thirdly, my mac will occasionally hang, though not as bad as 10.6.0 did back in the day. I have checked permissions, and they are intact. I am running at 2.8 GHz 4 GB RAM.
