Hi.

Bought my ipod touch at launch and am a bit bored with the current applications lol.
I have a few questions.

1)What applications are available at the moment?

2)I heard a while back that if i hack my touch i will not be allowed to use itunes to put music etc on the ipod. Has this been sorted? if not than how am i meant to put music etc on the touch?

3)Whats the easiest way to do it?

I am running windows XP on my PC. Am running 1.1.1 on my ipod touch.

Thanks in advance.:)

Answering question one: notes, sketches, weather, email, IM programs, gameboy advance emulator, NES emulator, iPhysics, Solitaire, Blackjack, Connect Four, MusicQuiz, Snake, Yahtzee, and hundreds of other games and utilities.

For number two: that is a complete lie. If someone said that, they had no idea what they were doing. Many people on the regular iPod Touch forums spew lies like that to cover their incompetence of computers.

And for number three: I would stay with 1.1.1 and do a regular "Touch Free" jailbreak. It takes five minutes and puts on Installer in just one click (other than resetting your iPod by holding the power button and sliding your finger twice, oh no!)

I have jailbreaked my touch but when i'm trying to install applications they don't come up on the menu?

The menu on the ipod touch where music safari etc is (springboard) something like that.
I'm installing them by the install application.
btw what is ssh?

SSH is a protocol by which you can use a Terminal on your Mac to type commands and work with your Touch on a very low level. The Touch contains a mini OS X file system and SSH or FTP are ways to manipulate files on it.

As for the menu, have you installed SummerBoard?

I successfully hacked another display model Touch at Best Buy the other day, proving that it only takes a Touch running 1.1.1 and access to WiFi.

A little unrelated, but I see you're in Canada (eh?), did you hack it in the Bestbuy in Coquitlam BC? When I went to pick one up, the display model was hacked and just thought it might be a small world after all ;)

Heh.. no, I'm out here in Ottawa, Ontario. But it just goes to show it's really not hard to do at all. The hardest part is upgrading/downgrading to 1.1.1 if it's not already there.

It wasn't hard downgrading for me, just very time consuming. 300MB is a lot to download.

question 2 is the biggest lie, it will be fully functional with itunes after you hack it

install apps is a snap, in installer just pick a an app and choose install
