A few questions about jailbreaking 2.0...

I have a few questions about jailbreaking 2.0 so hopefully you guys can help me out a bit.
1. What exactly is Cydia? Does installer still exist? Is it a replacement for installer?
2. Do the apps on installer/cydia work with 2.0?
3. Do I have to wait for the jailbreaking community to specifically make apps for 2.0?
4. Will the jailbreaking community follow apple and start charging for the apps?

I've tried Cydia on my 1.1.4 ipod touch and just don't understand it. I have trouble finding all the apps I want on it and stuff. IMO installer is much easier to navigate through.
