Hi,

I've recently had a few problems with my Macbook so I booted up using the installation CD and ran Disk Utility. Upon trying to repair the disk I got the 'invalid node structure' message, and it told me to back up and reformat the hard-drive. The Mac HD is now not recognised, so i restarted using Bootcamp into Windows XP. All of the files on the Mac HD (F:) are accessible in Windows, so the question is, if I purchase an external hard-drive can i transfer all the Mac HD files from Windows Bootcamp on the external hard-drive, erase and reformat the Mac HD and then transfer all the files and data onto the Mac HD once it has been erased and the OS has been re-installed? If that makes sense? Is there anything special I have to do? The Macbook is white and was purchased in November 2009 if that helps and runs on Snow Leopard.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
