I've been thinking of buying a 2013 13" MacBook Air for school (likely the i7, 256GB model), and I'm planning to run Windows 7 via Boot Camp for Windows-only programs. I just have a couple of questions:
1) How is the battery life in Boot Camp? I've seen reports of 5 hours, 8 hours, even 12 hours. Considering that Windows has always meant far worse battery life on MacBooks, I want to know
2) How well does connecting to an external display in Windows via Thunderbolt work? I've heard complaints that the display won't be recognized unless it is connected upon boot. I'll be (very frequently) using a monitor that supports both VGA and HDMI, and to have to reboot every time I need to use the monitor would get really old, really fast.
3) Is the trackpad really crippled in Windows? I don't mind not having pinch-to-zoom or the other advanced gestures so long as I have basic point-and-click, two-finger right click, and two-finger scrolling.
Any and all help is appreciated.
