Hi,
So I‘m a bit confused between the custom Siri commands that one can create from within certain apps (e.g things) or even Siri in the settings, and the actual shortcut app.
It appears that the custom Siri commands from within apps are not synced across my iOS devices. (iPad/iPhone) Is this intended behavior? Don’t understand why, it‘s absolutely frustrating!
Also what‘s REALLY confusing and making it all very inconsistent is that presumably, HomePod and Apple Watch are now capable of understanding Siri shortcuts, but then my custom voice commands dont get synced over how it seems, so the HomePod in fact does NOT understand any of these commands.
Though what DOES have changed, is that HomePod is now capable of understanding CERTAIN othe commands that are related, to stick with the example, THINGS.
It SOMETIMES understands commands like „add a task to things“ and then will ask „what should that task contain?“. Though my custom command „Add a task for today“ that I created from within things in order to create a task for the today list, HomePod will understand as a call to create a new REMINDER in the apple Reminder app. The iPhone though gets it every single time and if I say „add a task for today“, it will launch THINGS and create an empty to do in the today list.
So it‘s really absolutely inconsistent overall. What makes it 10 times worse is that in German, Siri STILL is not really capable of distinguishing THINGS from SINGS or FINKS. Though I have to say, since iOS 12 she gets it right all east half the time, which before simply NEVER happened.
Also on Apple Watch I can now for the first time say „add a task to things“ and it will actually ask me what to add to THINGS. Though this, as well as the HomePod command seem to be some built-in commands from the developer, and definitely neither HomePod nor Apple Watch will understand custom commands that I created in the settings under Siri.
Anyone understands the methodology behind all this?
