I had saved an image file to my desktop a while back and decided to delete it.
However, when I was changing my desktop image a while back, I noticed that this image was still there, but only visible in the "change desktop background" window/ function/ what have you...
It has become quite an annoyance, nothing major... but it's like having a tiny scratch on the lens of your glasses.

It has even gotten to the point of cycling through the "Search For: All Images" in Finder while using cover flow. I didn't see it.
I'm out of ideas. Please help.

Very strange.. well first off I say see if Terminal sees it

Open Terminal.app (Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app)

Type in "cd desktop" without quotes which should change directory (cd) to the desktop.

It should say something like ~/Desktop yourname$

Type in "ls" without quotes (Lowercase L) and press enter, it should list all files in the desktop directory

If it doesn't show up, and is just some annoying ghost, maybe some basic Troubleshooting steps can help get rid of it.

Other then that, you may need to call the ghost busters.

the phantom file is not showing up in terminal.
I'm gonna check out the troubleshooting link you posted in a bit.
If nothing there helps me, I may just pour a drink and hang my head in defeat.

Hi.

For what it's worth, the System images are in the HD/Library/Desktop Pictures folder.

My personal images are in my Home/Pictures/Desktop Images folders. Desktop Images is just what I named it. I try to keep it as organized as possible and file wallpaper when I download it.
