I have an A1553 (38mm case) 1st Generation, space black stainless steel, Sport, sapphire crystal, retina display, and ceramic back. I dropped it face-down on a hard surface and the sapphire crystal is cracked into 3 pieces. It still runs and holds a charge, but I'm afraid of bumping it on something and dislodging one of the pieces.

Apparently the repair cost is more than it is currently worth.

Does anyone know of a strong film, Lexan polyester for example, that I could epoxy to the surface? It would need to be compatible with swiping the face to change displays. I have a 'water thin' epoxy I use for wood repair from System3 in Seattle.

thanks,
baumgrenze
