OK, back when GoAnimate was available for non-business use with the "GoPlus" pricing plan, I used to use GoAnimate to make some animated videos, but not those usual inane "grounded" videos that clutter up YouTube (though I have parodied them quite a few times, including one with over 500,000 views where Caillou's mother finally does something about the father always grounding Caillou for virtually no reason and confronts him about it!) Since two of the stock "Comedy World" characters are made to intentionally resemble the Mac and PC guys from the "Get a Mac" commercials from 2006-2009, I thought I'd do an amusing parody of them...
This I made back in 2014, and was making fun of how Macs were dropping optical disc drives, and that made the PC guy quite happy that he still has one! He even points out how newer versions of Windows are more secure and stable than past versions, and how many Macs today aren't even user-serviceable. And of course, there is NONE of that stupid "grounded" stuff here either; I try to keep the style true to the original commercials, albeit still using text-to-speech dialogue (rule of funny). Of course, this was 2014, so things have changed a bit since then, such as the new 21" Retina iMacs having user-replaceable RAM (though it can be kind of tricky to get in), and fewer and fewer PCs now coming with optical disc drives. (Many desktop towers still have them, but I'm seeing less and less laptops and all-in-ones that include the drive.)
Although the video tries to make the PC seem more superior, I still generally prefer Macs, but as I mentioned I like to be a cross-platform user, especially since I want to work in I.T. and am going to college for it, and I have a Windows 10 boot camp partition on my Mac Mini for if I want or need to run any Windows software (like for school or something, such as the Microsoft Access online course I took in the spring.) Best of both worlds!
Just felt like sharing this amusing commercial parody!
