Apple added one small thing that at least I THINK is new to ios5

In portrait mode with mail. You can drag your right thumb outward in the message window to show the mailbox pane, and reverse to hide.

Please tell me this wasn't missed by me in ios 4 :)

Any other nice things you've noticed?

I think it's new to IOS 5. I'm sure Scott Forstall briefly showed it at the WWDC keynote.

Yea he showed it at WWDC. You missed that one. Ahhhh, u catch some, u miss some.

Not to thread cap but has anyone noticed that Mail takes much longer to load then before?

Here is a list of all the 200 new features in iOS 5. There were a few I missed like the camera AE/AF Lock (by pressing and holding on the screen until the box flashes)

Swipe right once for the unified inbox and twice, to bring up the separate inbox panel. Always once to the left to dismiss the sidebar entirely.

I'm so glad iOS5 will have custom text tones. I hate when I'm in a room full of people and that little chime goes off and everyone pulls out their iDevices thinking it's theirs.

And I hate all the other pre-loaded text tones so I refuse to change it.

Same goes for the mail tone, glad you will now be able customize it.

I've been waiting for this for ages.
I'm currently using the old-school Gameboy startup chime and the PSP game launch sounds(I like the in-built Tweet and Telegraph tones as well).

I wish mail would allow you to have multiple messages open in the event you need to cut and paste from a number of e-mails, i.e., compiling numerous responses into one summary e-mail message.

Here's a few...

When using 4+ fingers to switch between apps the next app doesn't just slide into view, but actually slides into view as though it was recessed inward just a smidge. Also, if you try to swipe to the left of the first app the screen stretches a bit. If you let go it springs into place.

The cube transition when notifications disappear.

The split/dock animation of the new keyboard. It slides into place wherever you had last positioned the undocked keyboard.

4+ finger gesture to return to the home screen is not just a simple animation. You can pinch till the current app is almost gone, then expand your fingers outward to cancel the transition.

I might be wrong on this, but the Maps app now displays alternate routes when plotting directions.

There is now an option to set the clock automatically even on Wi-Fi iPads. Minor, but a big deal since my wifi iPad 1 seemed to end up a few minutes off every couple of weeks.

Multitasking gestures is great, with a smart cover means you never have to press a button, it's an eery experience.

Yep!!! I love it. Its much more intuitive than the android tablet interface. I just four finger swipe between different apps. You guys will see tomorrow. :)

Can't seem to get this to work. I must be retarded. I used thumb and pointer finger and it just selects words.

FaceTime over 3G: Yes, it is now possible. Not yet available for developers though.

(Custom) gesture-based lock-screen (Ability to define a custom gesture to unlock iPhone without need of a pass-code. This is not confirmed but rumored to be included in later releases of iOS 5. Do you see any benefit?)

1080p Playback support for iPad. (Awesome)

???

"FaceTime over 3G"

didn't see this one until I read the whole list...this is great!
