1. Get a small "Project box" from radio shack - or any plastic box the size of a cig pack. Weight it down a bit with fishing sinkers, lead,etc.
2. Using a dremel, cut a slot on the top from the back down the middle, slide the cord thru, and super glue the power connector straight up and down at the end of the slot like this:

Now the iphone and case will stand straight up with no pressure laterally on the connector or pins. If you are paranoid about breaking it off, put a back on it with more plastic and struts.....I've made 3 so far for friends - no I'm not selling them - takes all of 10 min to do.
