A lagging problem and Cache !

Hi,

First of all, while I watch movie, sometimes I see a lagging on my player. Audio continues, but video just comes a second later in fast mode. Maybe it happens once a day, but not so frequently happening.

I am using MplayerX, and I also tried Vlc player which has less this kind of problem.

However, I find MpleyerX very useful and I tried to search for a solution on net and I found something. I solved the problem by increasing the cache on settings of this player. Now I don't see any lagging.


What can be advantages and disadvantages of increasing this cache?
