You could fill them in and paint it, you could take a sander to it and smooth them out but this will all just look worse than leaving them as "war wounds". It is solid aluminium so not a lot you can do.
Just be glad that it is not the screen broken and get on with your life.
May be worth going through home insurance if the damage is that bad. Am I right in assuming that the LCD itself/outer glass is undamaged? If it's just cosmetic then hopefully there shouldn't be a need to worry.
If you can possibly provide any photographs that'd be really helpful.
