I have been trying to download and install some freeware/shareware.. (free) apps this evening but unfortunately i cant because i get an error message (see attached) is there anyway to change this?? dont particularly want to have to get the disks out, but if i have to i can :)

*i have tried resetting permissions etc with mainmenu, i dont think that its related to mainmenu because it was working fine before this evening! :)

Thanks alot peeps

i don't see anything attached to this. I'll bet your drunk and think you are using a PC!!!

no unfortunately not, i dont even dream of using PCs nowadays, not even after excessive cheese eating the evening before..

I am afraid its just me being stupid, and not realising for 1 hour

Whats wrong with my Mac?? it would seem that the disk permissions are screwed up right? i had to do a restore from Time machine, of my other mac onto this one, because i fiddled too extensively with settings.. thus Time Machine :) After i did that though, i did notice that the apps folder wouldnt let me change permissions so i have a loaaada folders in there Adobe Flash..... (from old mac) or Device Central... (from old mac)

Is it time to dig through the disks??

also i tried repairing permissions using mainmenu, it didnt report any thing abnormal

thanks

Try shutting down your system and starting over.
If that dont work, I would start digging but try it sober!

edit;
I have now gone, found the disk shoved it in. Repaired permissions in the disk utility from the disk. Repaired the HD, verified it all, booted it all up.. tried my 2 different means of testing the authentication and disk permissions etc.. it would seem its all to no avail.. dont particularly want to have to reinstall the whole shebang, i spent most of the evening making my system looking all nice n fluffy would be a bit of a parlarva sorting it all out at the other end!!

what you all reckon??

cheers
