Open System Preferences and start searching. The way it handles it is good to look at.

EDIT: Oh, I see.. yes, old news, as PoD posted.
 
I assume he's just talking about the little "spotlight" effect you get that highlights relevant preference panes as your type in the search box...

it was actually a little bit bizare the way they advertised it so much. its not like it is supposed to be a super commonly used program.. i don't even use the search feature at all

Wow, well Microsoft is making a huge deal out of search with Vista, and I think that adding it into System Preferences is a terrific addition to an otherwise mediocre Apple Help.

Search is extremely important to a lot of people; I refuse to use Finder, for example, and instead just use Spotlight to find files I need.

Coolest feature of Spotlight for me? Definitely it's ability to search emails - I use that more than anything.
