Hello - I am new to the forum

I am mostly interested in a machine for running Logic Pro 9 well. Right now I am thinking 2010 27" i7 used 16gb ram 500gb HD 3 yr warranty approx $1600. I am not sure if this will do HT - guide shows 2.9ghz i7 will do HT but it doesnt say if the 2.8 will or not?

Does anyone have an opinion about whether I should go for this machine or a newer 2011 i5 21.5 machine for Logic

Thanks

Friend of mine is using Logic on 13'' MacBook from 2009 or 2010 and as far as I'm concerned he does not have any issues with performance.

That machine will be sweet and you will be better off with screen real estate in my opinion. Logic can get quite messy and scroll happy with big projects.

I am however unsure what you mean by HT?

edit: Oh Hyper Threading... I can't help you on that one but I have a 2010 i7 MBP and it does utilise threading. It has two cores and four threads, if I open logic I can observe all four threads being used.
