I can’t figure this out. I have contacts allowed to come thru on texts and calls when I have the do not disturb feature activated.
When I turn the little switch on the side to activate the vibrate feature like when I’m in a quiet area it will not silence any of my contacts only non contacts. Is this connected to my do not disturb settings? I have to either turn the phone off or kill the volume all together to keep it quiet. Of course then I miss calls/texts coming in. I cannot find any setting to change this. Iphone7 running 13.2 but has been doing this since the start of the os13 series. Any help would be appreciated.

So when you have vibrate on, you want no notifications to make it thru or all of them? I’m just trying to figure out what you want it to do..

Sorry if it is confusing. In the past when I tripped that little side switch it went to vibrate for all incoming anything. I got a vibe and could choose to check or not but I knew something came in without having to take it out of my pants pocket. Now, I get a vibe but only for emails, and non contacts texts and calls. All contacts make an audible alert. Most of my incoming stuff is from contacts so when in a quiet area where irritating cell phone noises are super frowned upon, courtrooms etc I now need to turn down the volume all the way. I have to do this on my android but my iPhone has always had this great switch which is really handy. Was just wondering if I had missed something. I’m starting to think it is os 13 that has caused the issue as it did not do it previously. My iPhone 7 is also 3 years old but works great in all other respects. So I dunno.
Bottom line is I want all notifications to come thru be it a call or text or email, but no audible alert, just vibe.

Ok, that’s how I have my phone setup. So in settings/sounds & haptics my vibrate setting at the top of the page is vibrate on ring “off” and vibrate on silent “on”. Then my do not disturb is set to a schedule(midnight - 7am) not manually activated. When I turn my phone on vibrate I don’t have do not disturb on at the same time and all notifications or calls come thru as vibration. Between midnight and 7am if I turn vibrate on, only “my favorites” will cause a vibration all other are silenced. You might have a bug in iOS13 causing problems for you, there definitely are quite a few mentioned on his forum. I have persistent keyboard issues using predictive text and general usage when typing. It’s very frustrating

Mine is set the same as yours. I was hoping I had overlooked something. I will need to get in the habit of turning down the volume then at least with the vibe on calls setting turned on I will get the vibe. So my switch is basically useless to me. Seems to be a bug on my 7. Thanks for your input.

You can always try to restore using iTunes and use your backup to set it up.. Sometimes it straightens issues out and you only lose out on the time it takes.
