Hi Guys,

While I wait for my Mac mini to arrive, I'm trying this Dell screen out with my M1 MBP Via USB-C. This screen has one USB-C port and HDMI 2.0 ports.

When I go into the preferences, It does not show me a list of resolutions in numbers, just if I want to scale it to see better. It also does not show it running in 30 or 60HZ. I do have it scaled little bit, because I can't see the letters lol. But, does this also affect movies I watch in 4K? Am I not seeing in 4K anymore since I have it scaled?

Is this normal? Can I assume it's showing 4K automatically? Also, When I get my Mini, I want to use HDMI to save one of my thunderbolt ports. I won't be losing anything, will I? I'm sorry if these questions sound very noobish. I am coming from an iMac 5K that is now 6 years old. I wanted to try something different with a bigger screen.

The only other questions I had is regarding using the buttons to lower or raise volume and screen brightness. I'm assuming I can't with this dell screen. I also have a Dell sound bar that has a USB-A connection. But I'm using the 3.5MM jack to get sound since there is no USB-A on the MBP. That's the only downside to having this setup.

Thank you in advance.

Hold the Option key and click "Scaled". Then select "Show low resolution modes".
