a little help with the beach ball

i have the new alu mbook and every now and then when i click on an app or open browser i get the beach ball. its starting to annoy me i even get it at times just click random buttons on links. its like im running windows or something. what could be the issue?

Go to the Safari Menu. There, check "cache", "history" and "webicons", then select "reset".
