Hello to all this is my 1st post on this forum so hello,
My mate has an iphone that he has had somthing done to it. It is the 3g NOT the 3gs. I'm not sure what he has had done to it all i know is it is much better.
It now has a battery percentage meter next to the battery icon, if he swipes the top part of the screen right to left then he gets a short cut tab/ screen up for the wireless/3G/ Bluetooth to turn it all on/ off, his got his name where O2 used to be, He has got "installer" on it which allows all app's to be free??
His still on 3.0(7A341) and still got mms copy and paste etc...

My Q is what has he had done to his phone, how can i do it and will it cost me??

I really have to gather all of my might to not be sarcastic.
Please search the forums or the internet in general for ways to "jailbreak" your iPhone. That is what he did, and you can do it too.

Jail break thats all i neededto know thankyou.
Sorry did not mean to be dumb,I just did not realise that you would stay on 3.0 once jail broken.

You weren't being dumb, you just didn't search. Its fine.
The 3Gs is the phone that isnt fully jailbroken yet. The 3G is more than capable of jailbreaking on 3.0

The phone's been jailbroke, OP. Search on jailbreak in the forums and you should find MANY threads on it. Oh, and welcome to macrumors.

Can i have personallised message tones with a jail broken phone ???
 
So do i automaticaly get the Battery percentage meter and the whole shortcut wireless/bluetooth/3G.Or is that all app based?

Hi yeah i know who the Spaz is i have read a fair few post on here.
I just have so many Q's on the whole jailbreaking thing and i like to have the answers in my head before i start so i thought i would ask i knew i would get abuse for not searching but i wanted to ask in a round about way if that is what my mate had done to his phone...
