If i buy an imac today will i have to pay for mavericks when it will be released or it will be free to update?

nobody know as Apple have not announce. But you will have to go for the worst assumption for now and that is you have to pay.

Apple has not announced anything yet, but when Mountain Lion came out last year they had an "Up to Date" program where if you had purchased a Mac within about six weeks of when Mountain Lion was released they gave you a code for a free copy of Mountain Lion. I would guess Apple will have something similar this time.
