obdev.at does their own thing. Sometimes this is co-joined, or tangential, to the AAPL Update Process.
It may become that you will find that there is wisdom in delaying updates until you find that the things you use (which actually work for you) will work with newer updates to the operating system into which they integrate..
Personally, I do not spend time expecting a major OS Ecosystem to follow the software which works for me; I weigh my options, focus upon the things that are most-important to me, and adjust accordingly.
One of the 'perks' I have noticed in the past, is that obdev.at allows for transitional purchases: if you purchase an Upgrade, now--and update to something New within a short time-span--they will allow a buffer in the Process.
It is You who must assume the responsibility to decide if an OS Update is more important than a particular Software Update (or vice-versa)
What I personally plan to do is ride with the LS I have installed, and wait to see it (and how) this affects the OS choice(s) I find in the future....
