Yes it's for real. Fortunately, it seems to ask for user password before installing. I hope people are cautious enough..
 
Yup - it's real, but it still requires you to physically install something and enter your admin password in the process.

Frankly, you have to be fairly gullible for this one - it's more a 'social engineering' issue than a security flaw.
 
So if someone passes it off to me, I have to enter my password before it does anything? Then, my friends would have to own Mac and also be stupid enough to enter their passwords?

Not exactly a virus, but one day, us Mac users will get ours, and it'll hurt!

i'm not that worried....but i don't look forward to antivirus software though
