So when I was on the phone with AppleCare today I casually brought up the topic about Apple employees not allowed being on these websites.

I didn't know this, but they are allowed to browswe these sites, they just can't comment on anything.

Watch what you say, they could be watching you...

yes they've always been allowed to read, but can't comment according to their NDA that they sign and agree too.

i thought this was fairly common knowledge, but maybe i've been hanging around here too much?

This makes complete sense -- browsing around isn't going to hurt anyone.
Commenting on internal stuff might, though

I get the impression, though, that most employees forego coming to the sites at all because they don't want to have even the slightest bit of trouble.
