So i was a bit worried coming from a GPS series 4 after seeing so many bad (battery) reviews on the series 5. I just wanted to pop in here and give my experiences.

I wouldn’t say I am a “heavy user” but I do usually fill my rings, text and periodically make phone calls using my watch.

I average out from 6:30 AM to 10PM 60% left on my battery after I finish out the day.

I knew going to a cellular model and the AOD would be a bit harder on my battery, but I am happy to say I am finishing out the day with about 35-40% and this is using my watch as normal (I even made a 10 min.) phone call while my phone was not connected.

This is with AOD on of course, raise wrist to wake feature on (i’m not sure why people would want to turn this off) and Watch OS 6.0.1

So i guess in a nutshell, could battery bet better? Absolutely, is it as bad as some people are reporting? Not to me....

My reason for turning ‘wake screen on wrist raise’ off is that the screen was waking a bit too much when I didn’t want it to for my liking ... though that was back when my battery life was pretty rough, so maybe I’ll try it again once now that it’s improved.

To me, AOD has made it less necessary to wake the screen with the wrist raise. The info I typically wanted when I used to raise my wrist with my old watch, is right there now with the AOD screen... and if I want to see/do more, tapping the screen is no biggie.
