On my 2 year old 2017 iMac, I've been printing to my Epson SC P800 printer for almost 2 years with good results. I had used ColorMunki to calibrate the monitor in the past, but it went kaput on me. Before it did, I started getting a completely different print than what was on the monitor. Results were dull, with colors muted, not nearly as bright. So purchased a SpyderX Pro calibrator. Used the new software, no change in poor prints. Use the DisplayCAL + ArgussII (spelling?) software as many purchasers suggested, no change in poor prints. Called Apple support yesterday and went through over an hour with them, even having the internal iCalibrator thing, no change in poor prints. Apple took all data and is to get back to me in 3 days with any results. In the meantime, I'm looking to get opinions on why my printing results look drab, as compared to a nice image onscreen.

Maybe the printer is the culprit here?
I printed from Preview on iMac to same printer, good results, almost good enough. Used the “use Photoshop Elements to color manage.”
Also, printed from Elements to my wife’s multifunction printer. Colors off but photo was much brighter.

Spent another 2 1/2 hours with Apple Support yesterday, too. No improvement seen after downloading a cordoned off OS Catalina ( I’m using the previous OS), no change in photo.
Returned call from Apple today suggesting downloading another Epson printer icc, Legacy Baryta Pk and purchasing same paper. I may try it, but have no hope for that.

So, why would I get very reasonable print from Preview app and not Elements now, on same printer? Oh, also tried printing from older Elements 15, drab results.

Almost at my wits’ end here!
