I know that Apple doesn't use PCI-Express in the new G5 systems, but according to a Wikipedia Article PCI-Express is actually 3GIO. Now am I wrong when I recall hearing that Apple was working with the 3GIO group? Because the Intel Developer's site (Here) touts PCI-Express as 3GIO (Third Generation Input/Output). Just click on the "What is PCI-Express" link to find the pdf. Who's right, or is Apple's 3GIO been forwarded to 4GIO?

No, there are several 3GIO options out there. PCI should be left out to the pasture to die. Infiniband is far better. With PCI-Express, you will see v2 of it out a few years later. Infiniband is far more flexible and will eliminate that.
