There's a bit of a difference between "not reading the blog" and "not obsessively following every utterance the dev team makes", don't you think?
Interesting that Apple pulled that bit of code, though. They must have known there'd be a bit of a rumpus about it when they planned it. I can't help but wonder if it was some kind of statistics-gathering exercise.
