So, usually when a new major update comes (iOS 5, 6, etc.) I always put my phone in DFU mode and update it and start fresh (I don't restore to a previous backup). I lose my SMS messages, have to go through my settings and set everything up again, etc. It doesn't take me more than an hour to do this. The most time consuming thing is having to go through all my apps and set them up just right.
My question is this: what do you guys do with apps that don't save data to iCloud? I don't play any games on my iPhone anymore, so game data is not an issue. However, some apps still don't save their date with iCloud or any other service. For example, consider Vesper. (I'm just using Vesper as an example. I purchased it knowing it didn't have sync.) If I were to start fresh, and not restore from a backup, I would lose all my notes, tags, etc.
I've always been curious as to any workarounds people may have for this.
Again, I have no problem losing voicemail, texts, call logs, and having to add all my email accounts again and what not.
I'd appreciate any tips or tricks you guys may have.
