I have a question about the keyboard replacement program:
https://www.macrumors.com/2018/06/22/apple-macbook-pro-keyboard-repair-program/

They only replace the keyboard if you actually have a faulty key?
If the keyboard "appears" to be all right they do not replace the keyboard?

Another thing:
The 2016 and the 2017 MacBook Pros are eligible for the program.
And they replace the keyboard in both machines with the 2017 version.
Doesn't this mean the repair program is crap because they use the 2017 version which is also faulty?

Of course they're not going to replace something when there's no fault present. If your keyboard doesn't have a fault, then it doesn't have a fault... It's a replacement program for keyboards which develop a fault, meaning not every one will develop it.

The 2017 keyboards are an improvement to some, but neither is inherently faulty. Say for argument sake 50% of them fail (It's nowhere near that high), they'll replace it with a keyboard and it could be the 50% that doesn't fail.

If your keyboard has a fault, then take it in for repair. If it doesn't have a fault then don't worry and use the thing for whatever reason you brought it for.

It is only a matter of time for the sub-par keyboard to fail. Not a nice thought!
Would have preferred Apple would take full responsibility of the issue and swap the keyboard for the 2018 version...

use the thing for whatever reason you brought it for.

Thanks for the heads up to "use the thing for whatever reason you b(R)ought it for".
I bought it to build sand castles on the keyboard!

Just kidding. Anyway My 2016 is already on ebay and my 2018 i9 arrived yesterday.
