A question for downloading iLife and iWork

Apple announced that the iWork and iLife apps are free with a new Mac or IOS device and they showed us a screen on an iPhone that allows us to download it while activating the iPhone.. But what if we restore from our previous backup before that page? Do we still get the option of downloading them for free? I hope you'll understand my question.
